Cleaning & Maintenance Tips
To preserve the elegant finish and integrity of your large, handcrafted concrete Uruli, especially when it is used as a water feature, follow these crucial guidelines.
Your Uruli is designed to be highly versatile. To prevent mineral build-up and minimize the potential for surface stress over time, do not let water settle for long periods. We advise using a rotational schedule for your décor: easily switch between a water feature and dry decorations like pebbles, dried flowers, or potpourri.
- Cleaning: For dusting, use a soft, dry cloth. For the interior, use a soft sponge and a cloth dampened with plain water only. Never use soaps, detergents, bleach, or acidic cleaners, as the porous concrete will absorb these chemicals and stain permanently.
- Preventing Surface Stress: Over a long period, standing water and mineral deposits can cause stress on the concrete's surface. To avoid this, only use clean water for flowers or candles, and change the water at least three times a week (or every 2-3 days). Do not use salt water at all.
- Proactive Use: To keep your Uruli in super condition, frequently shift to dry decorations. Use it for pebbles, sand, potpourri, or seasonal floral arrangements that do not require continuous water.
- Wax Removal: Allow any wax spills to cool and harden completely before gently peeling or chipping the solid wax off with a plastic scraper or your fingernail. Avoid all sharp metal tools.
